Harvey Max Chochinov - Musings on Dignity in Palliative Care

This talk will provide reflections on decades of research that has focused on various dimensions of dignity in the terminally ill. This will include providing an overview of the Model of Dignity in the Terminally Ill; a brief description of Dignity Therapy and its applications in patients with life threatening and life limiting conditions; the Patient Dignity Inventory; and the Patient Dignity Questions, and how the latter can help us place personhood on our clinical radar. Finally, this talk will describe The Platinum Rule, and how this can help raise the bar of person-centered care.
